That’s a good question. In fact, a lot of people ask that same thing. Bugs are very tenacious! In order to get rid of annoying pests and keep them out of your home, a regular service is necessary. A regular service is also essential to break the pest development cycle. Insect eggs are resistant to pesticides. So even though we service your home this month, most of the eggs that pests have already laid will hatch next month. A regular service agreement provides you with year-round protection from your pests as well as those migrating over from your neighbor’s property. A regular service is also necessary due to the relatively short residual of the products available to professionals. Source Pest Control uses only products that have been registered with the Environmental Protection Agency. The residual, or length of time most products are effective against pests, is approximately 60-90 days. Therefore, having regular service is the only way we can provide a guarantee.

This means that although we are treating your property, pests from the surrounding area can migrate over to your property and make an effort to get inside your home. In fact, when we finish a full pest management treatment of your home, the insects will be flushed out of their hiding places and so you may even see more pests than usual immediately after a treatment. We ask that you allow 2-3 weeks for the pest treatment to take effect. If you are still seeing an increased amount of pests, please contact us and we will retreat your home at no additional charge. By servicing your property on a regular basis, we guarantee that you will receive the most thorough and effective pest control service in the area.

The best method for treating rodents is exclusion. Mice can fit into a hole the size of a dime and rats can fit into a hole the size of a quarter. Caulking and steel wool are great for sealing holes and cracks that mice and rats may enter. After you’ve sealed any entry points, we can implement a variety of products that will take care of rodents. We commonly use snap traps, glue boards, and rodent baiting programs.
