Cockroach (German)

Description: Adults are light brown to tan with two small black stripes behind their heads. The nymphs are much darker.
How do German Cockroaches get in?: Usually they are brought inside unknowingly in paper bags and cardboard boxes etc. They like warm and humid areas and are most often found in kitchens and bathrooms, but will go anywhere they can find food and water.

An infestation can cause the residents to avoid the kitchen at night for fear of coming face to face with one these unwelcomed creatures. Learn more about German Cockroaches here.

When a home is infested, the droppings and dead body parts contaminate the air and the development of asthma in small children has been directly linked. In extreme infestations they may also bite causing irritation and minor infections.

Yellow Jackets

Description: Most yellow jackets species have alternating bands of black and yellow on their thin abdomens.
What do Yellow Jackets eat? They will eat other insects and suck the nectar out of fruits.

What are the Dangers and how do I get rid of them? Yellow jackets will build nests in trees, shrubs, under porches, cracks in sidewalks and in the ground. Some nests have up to 100,000 adults but normally there are 1000 – 3000 workers to a nest. Since many nests are on the ground, vibrations from lawn mowers etc can aggravate them and cause them to attack. They are often referred to as predatory wasps. They swarm and their barbed stingers can strike repeatedly, even when unprovoked. The venom is not dangerous unless multiple stings occur or if the person has an allergy to bees and wasps. The safest way to remove a nest is to call a professional.

The queen lays eggs, and her daughters feed the larvae. Later in the season, some of the larvae develop into males and some into queen bees.

Yellow Jacket and Wasp Control: Because of the potential danger of their stings, leave yellow jacket, wasp and bee treatments to a professional. Our preventative pest maintenance program guarantees control of wasps and yellow jackets.
